Belonger Corporation is a mechanical contractor in the specialty trades industry, providing H.V.A.C./R. for commercial and industrial applications. Founded in March, 2000 Jean Marie Thiel started Belonger Corporation in her basement with one employee and four customers. Seven years later, Belonger Corporation is Wisconsin’s only woman-owned and American Indian-owned mechanical contracting company employing over 30 employees

Unprecedented growth has been a hallmark of Jean Marie Thiel’s tenure as president of Belonger Corp. Despite increasing costs due to factors such as health care premiums, gas prices and wage requirements, Belonger’s overall growth has been more than twice what was originally expected. From meager beginnings of four customers to currently 70+, the diversity and flexibility of the company has allowed a national presence to be established.

Belonger currently employs eight office personnel (designers, project managers, safety directors, contract administrators) and over twenty union-certified technicians ranging from master plumbers, sheet metal journeymen, and pipe fitter journeymen, to varying stages of apprentices and laborers. Where the company originally started with only one full time employee with virtually no employee benefits, Belonger is currently able to offer competitive wages, a family insurance policy, 401K option, paid holidays, and additional paid time off. Belonger Corp. has launched better hiring practices in order to get better performance. We believe the company’s exceptional safety record in comparison with the national industry and our owner-commitment to resolving situations that arise in favor of the customer have also helped Belonger excel. Additionally, the business sees very little rework or warranty, because we strive to do things right the first time. Lastly, Belonger pays for our employees to attend industry specific training, skill building seminars, OSHA related certifications, and even college courses to develop skill sets required in the market place.
